WA-017:  Rare Roman "Axe" Brooch.  Just over 1 1/2" long, bronze, much rarer type and very good order.  Circa 1st / 2nd Cent AD.  £88

 

WA-018:  400 Million Year Old Fossil Trilobite.  An extinct group of animals related to insects.  Pharcops species, Devonian Age (408-360 Million Years ago).

Nice and heavy and makes an excellent display piece.  Part of the base has been glued back where it originally broke off due to chipping / carving.  Postage included hence: £85

 

WA-019:  x2 Interesting "Knights" Silver Spoons.  These are small spoons and the hyperlinked image will tell the story.  Sold as a pair.  £42

 

WA-021:  x2 GB 1600's Bronze "Crotel" Bells.  Good condition and both still ring.  Sold as a pair.  £26

 

WA-022:   Medieval / Tudor Hawking Bell.  Not in the best of shape but it is what it is.  This is the type of bell Henry VIII would have used when hunting.  £11

 

WA-024:  Polished Fossil Ammonite.  3 3/4" x 2 1/2", cut and polished professionally.  There are other fossils showing on both sides.  £19

 

WA-025:  Roman 1st Cent Bronze Statue.  1 1/4" high, 1 1/3" long and a Stag.  Presumed to be an Alter piece from a domestic Roman household.

WA-026:  Medieval Small Cross.  Bronze, 1 1/4" high, circa 1300's.  Norfolk provenance.  The cross is unpierced at the loop so is presumed to be from a Medieval travelling salesman’s hoard.  £38

 

WA-027:  Anglo-Saxon Bronze Dress Fastener.  1 1/3" long, typical Saxon design, totally complete and very good condition.  Circa 6th Century AD. Norfolk provenance.  £38

 

WA-028:  Very Rare Early Anglo-Saxon Silver Lunar Brooch.  23mm (inc loop) x 22mm, silver and typical Saxon ring & dot design.

Another view here.  Complete loop and the only damage being on the tip of one of the arms of the crescent (which looks contemporary and may have been in the make).  Circa 500 - 600 AD and very rare.  £145

 

WA-032:  Early Medieval Silver Annular Brooch.  16mm diameter, totally complete and with Latin inscription.  Flat design making it circa 1200's. English.  £69

 

WA-034:  Egyptian Amulet or Pendant.  Circa 100 BC, 25mm high and pierced at the back of the neck for wearing.  These were sometimes attached to the Egyptian bead-necklaces sometimes seen.  Good condition.  £55

 

WA-035:  English Celtic Silver Finger Ring.  Internal diameters:  left to right = 22 ½ mm, top to bottom 22mm.  Solid silver, remarkably good condition.   English, Norfolk provenance.  Circa 100 BC – 40 BC.  £90

 

WA-038:  Large ROMAN Handle with busts of Minerva.  150mm from bust to bust, 70mm in height.  Good quality bronze – a heavy item.  Handle from a cauldron, large bucket  or the like.  Other images here and here.  £175

 

WA-039:  Saxon Gold Brooch / Pendant.  Solid gold, 17mm diameter and typical Saxon art work.  Circa 8th Century AD.  Excellent condition and not restored at all.  A rare piece of Mid-Saxon gold costume jewellery.  £269

 

WA-041:  6,000+ Year Old Squatting Steatophygous Fertility Figure.  Nearly 3” high with most of the original painted decoration remaining.  Circa 5th century B.C. and from the place where civilisation originally started; Mesopotamia and the ancient near East.  I’m told these are always repaired (because they were broken as part of the fertility ritual 6,000+ years ago) but if this one is, it’s a good repair.  £145
